Inlay Pens Black TI and Platinum Plating
Titanium is versatile, lightweight and strong, this metal is as strong as steel but is 45% lighter in weight, and is similar to platinum in its resistance to tarnishing. Titanium's strength, durability, and lustrous beauty make it an ideal choice for pens that are subject to daily wear.
Titanium Oxide is the hardest metal available for pen coatings. Its only "down" side is that it has a dark smoky color rather than the bright brilliance of platinum and rhodium. With the appropriate pen style and body, this can give a very dramatic and rich appearance.
Platinum is extremely durable. It's shiny and beautiful, but it's also a metal that will last for generations.
Possibly natures most brilliant and durable precious metal, Platinum is used by the world’s premier pen manufacturers to plate their very finest pens. Platinum has a soft white hue. It's 30 times rarer than gold (which means it's more expensive), 40% heavier than 14K gold and platinum will not tarnish or oxidize, however it ages beautifully by developing a lustrous patina.
Platinum sells for as much as $1,500.00 per troy ounce and it is unmatched in brilliance and durability. The Rhodium and Platinum plating on my pens will last a lifetime.
Ballpoint Pens Edelweiss flower Inlay Wood
Edelweiss flower was used in the 19th century as a symbol of purity of the region around the Alps and it was a flower highly respected by the people who lived there. In a novel written by Berthold Auerbach called “Edelweiss”, it is described how difficult it is to get the Edelweiss flower since they grow on heights up to 3000 meters.
This pen has a total of 7 pieces of Dyed Maple Burl, American Holly and Yellow Dyed Basswood. There is a folklore associated with the Edelweiss in which it is stated that giving this flower as a gift to a loved one is a promise of dedication. This will make a perfect gift! The pieces are laser cut, assembled by hand and then turned, sanded and coated with 10 layers of finish that results in a durable and beautiful pen.

Ink Pen Crafting Process
The Inlay ink pen is constructed first by hand selecting each piece and then cutting, drilling and turning the pen to its final shape on a lathe. The pen is then sanded 7 times with progressively finer grits (150, 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800) of sandpaper, to achieve a very smooth surface and a diameter tolerance of .001 - .002 in, for a smooth transition with the metal parts. Wood pens then have 10 coats of finish applied and the ink pen is sanded again 9 times with sandpaper to 12,000 grits to a high shine or satin finish. Acrylic and Tru-Stone pens are sanded 9 times with sandpaper to 12,000 grits for a high shine and then a polish is added.
